Have you ever found yourself unable to recall whether you remembered to do that thing you needed to do....you remember starting, but you can't remember finishing?.?. (Confession: this happened to me TWICE last week... so far!) Shame on me! With all of the concerns in the world, I've gotten swept away and forgot to send you this video on the futility of worry and anxiety by Alan Watts. Ask yourself this: Do you think that worrying and fearing all the 'what-if's' is healthy? Honestly, there is a HUGE difference between 'worrying'/fearing' and being 'full of care'! We all ought to be caring...shouldn't we? Science is proving over and over that fears and worry, even though it's nothing more than an ILLUSION have palpable, measurable effects on the mind, body, and emotions and can get us sick! In this video, Alan Watts gives us a few pointers to help dissolve worry and anxiety. I find his advice very, very sound. Fearing and worrying is hard work and takes its toll, yet many still invest in fears and worries. We should be SMARTER than that, right? It turns out that's partly due to biology and evolution. Our brains are BIOLOGICALLY programmed to focus on what's wrong FAR MORE easily than focusing on what's right. Tony Robbins says, "What's wrong is all around us and so is what's right!" We notice what's wrong because when you're subject to the law of the jungle, you have to constantly search for threats, but 90% of the time, whatever catches your eye turns out to be nothing. First of all, we don't live in a jungle any longer but we still have the same operating system between our ears! This is where the practice of yoga comes in. During our time on the yoga mat, my team and I consistently share with you mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual techniques that help us to discern what's real and what's not...all so we can be more 'full-of-care' in our lives and worry less. That's not to say fearing and worrying is ALWAYS wrong...it's that there's just too much to worry and fear over these days and not enough gratitude. If you're worrying too much, I promise it's HURTING you, your family, your business, and your potential for lasting happiness. Seriously, resist the temptation--->fight the bad habits of worry and fear and replace them daily with gratitude! Yoga helps ;-) Talk soon, Ro
