Pranayama is a Sanskrit word derived from 3 words:
Pra = First
Na = Source
Ayama = To expand
According to Yogic thought, the first source of life is prana, and the breath carries prana into the body. Therefore, pranayama is the expansion of the internal breath and the increase of the force of life.
In plain terms, pranayama is a series of breathing exercises that helps to increase mental acuity and emotional intelligence, aids in detoxifying impurities, and increases energy to the cells of the body.
When practiced before meditation, pranayama aids in bringing the student into a meditative state with a sense of ease.
Meditation is becoming more mainstream and a wonderful complement to your wellness routine.
For 16 sessions spanning January through April, meeting on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., Roman will be providing several pranayama and meditation practices.
Included in the class fee will be recordings of the meditations that will be available upon request.
