Regret comes when we look back on life and we realize that we didn't follow what we know is true in our hearts. It can really suck because regret inhibits us from experiencing our lives in the here and now due to being stuck in the past.
When contemplating our life and which actions we should take, we oftentimes have several influences to cope with; what we think in our heads, the voices of others, and that 'still small voice' that is nestled deep in our hearts.
We've all experienced times when we thought something to be true just to discover that it wasn't, and we've all allowed the chatter from others to distract us from our truth. And, if you've followed your heart, you know that the truth that it whispers has never, ever been wrong, correct?
When we live a life that is aligned with our truth, we find ourselves making informed decisions and focused actions. Through trusting our truth, we learn about the world and ourselves, and even if the outcome is a challenging one, the benefits from the newfound self-knowledge always outweigh the challenge.
On the yoga mat, we practice tuning out of the frequency of the mind and tuning into the frequency of the heart. With practice, we attune deeply to that still small voice and trust more and more its counsel.
I want to encourage you to follow your heart today and the truth that is found within. Yoga helps is so much more helpful than you can imagine!
