The 7th Grade Floor That Changed Everything
Most people think mindfulness is some new-age thing that happened overnight.
Not Susan.
Her story started on the floor of a 7th-grade science classroom where her teacher did something radical:
She made 25 restless kids sit still and just... breathe.
Those tiny moments of calm?
They planted something deep.
Something that would completely transform her life decades later.
See, Susan's always been a "learn by doing" kind of person.
(Probably got that from her teacher mom.)
At the University of Florida, she wasn't just hitting the books - she was working her way through school as a SCUBA instructor, mentoring Girl Scouts, and teaching automotive maintenance at a trade school.
Her tech career took her everywhere:
Developing systems for airplane maintenance, creating HIV/AIDS protocol training for Africa, pioneering automation in medical imaging.
Pretty impressive stuff.
But here's the thing that really matters...
Her Most Important Job Title?
Mom.

Raising three incredible humans taught her more about compassion, patience, and presence than any corporate boardroom ever could.
Through all the joys and heartbreaks of motherhood, yoga remained her anchor - that reminder to breathe, trust her gut, and start fresh when everything fell apart.
After more than two decades climbing the engineering leadership ladder, Susan felt something calling her.
Not another promotion or bigger paycheck, but something deeper.
A transformation rooted in connection, not computation.
That's when Gratitude Hot Yoga became her homecoming.
Now she brings together everything she's learned - the structure AND the soul - helping others find the same grounding, courage, and peace that yoga gave her when she needed it most.
Here's what Susan knows that most people don't:
Yoga isn't about escaping your life.
It's about fully inhabiting it.
Every challenge, every breath, every single class is proof that strength is quiet, transformation is absolutely possible, and the power to begin again?
It lives inside you right now.
